The four recipes I looked at in detail were Jamie Oliver’s ‘Bloomin’ Brilliant Brownies’, * Nigella Lawson’s ‘Sinful Chocolate Brownies’, Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall’s ‘Chocolate and Beetroot Brownies’ and BBC Good Food’s ‘Best- Ever Brownies’.

The first and most noticeable difference between the recipes was BBC Good Food’s highly detailed explanation. Nigella Lawson’s was the next most simple in terms of ingredients.

Sugar was the highest content ingredient throughout all the brownie recipes I looked at, only Hugh’s recipe matched the sugar content with butter and chocolate content. I chose to follow Jamie’s recipe for no particular reason other than I had enough ingredients to make a larger quantity. Ingredients for banana bread When it came to taking them out I did what the recipe suggested and stuck a skewer into the centre to make sure it was still moist inside.

Other recipes suggest that you should take the brownies out when the skewer comes out clean, so I gave them a couple more minutes in the oven. Two banana bread I left the brownies in the baking tray for a about ten minutes before lifting them out, still in their baking parchment.

When I cut into them the top layer cracked and the centre was still very gooey. Banana bread recipe healthy I left them out for 25 minutes to see if they would harden as they cooled down but when I returned they were still moist.

The brownies had a rich, chocolatey taste but could have done with about double the amount of nuts.
