It’s time, once again, for Troop 114?s annual Pasta Supper! This is a major fund raiser for our troop and all scouts are expected to attend.

This year’s Pasta Supper will be held on Saturday, March 18 th, from 5:00pm till 7:00pm, in Gifford Hall at the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury.

The menu will include pasta with sauce, meatballs, salad, bread, beverages and homemade desserts. Bbq homemade sauce The cost is still only $7 per person and children under 5 eat free!

the resulting $70 should be returned by Tuesday, March 14 th. Chicken homemade recipe Unsold tickets must be returned (but I’d rather you sell them J).

We are also looking for volunteers to man a table during the next two Sundays’ services at the Congregational Church to sell tickets. Meatloaf homemade recipe Volunteers will be asked to sign-up to attend from 9am to 11am in full Class-A uniform.

We will ask that all scout families bring a desert to share at the Past Dinner.

We will have a sign-up sheet at upcoming troop meetings… shifts will include a set-up crew (4pm-7pm) and a clean-up crew (5pm-8pm)… I expect every scout to sign up for one (or both) of these shifts.

For the seventh straight year, senior-rank scouts (First Class and above) will be headed to North Conway, NH for a weekend of skiing, snowboarding, tubing, snow shoeing and/or general snowy merriment. Chili homemade recipe This year’s trip will be the weekend of March 3 rd-5 th and we will again be staying at The Beast (a huge 9-bedroom house with a sweet game room and big screen TVs)!

Note: you must hold (or achieve) the rank of First Class or above prior to 3/1/2017 to attend this special trip.

Our February “ campout” will be an overnight lock-in inside the Central Rock Gym of Worcester on February 11 th. Swedish homemade We will spend the night climbing dozens of indoor rock walls, enjoying pizza & snacks, playing games, and sleeping on the padded floor of the gym.

We will meet at Central Rock Gym (299 Barber Av, Worcester)) at 8pm on Saturdayevening. Homemade meatballs ground beef Make sure you eat dinner at home before you come to the event, and you need only bring your sleeping bag and a pillow.

Please complete and return a permission slip, Central Rock Gym Release form, and payment ($40*) by Tuesday, January 17 th.

During our January campout (27 th-29 th), we will be participating in Quinsigamond District’s 2017 Klondike Derby at Treasure Valley Scout Reservation.

The Klondike Derby is a patrol-based competition of scout skills and knowledge… and it’s a ton of fun!

Each Patrol will pull its own Klondike Derby sled to several stations, set up throughout the camp, to test your teamwork and skills with such activities as fire building, first aid, navigation, and many more.

We will be camping in tents at the High Mesa Campsite at Treasure Valley.

This campout will involve patrol-style cooking. Homemade meatballs with grape jelly Patrol Leaders are responsible for ensuring the list of necessary ingredients for their respective menu plans are purchased and brought to the campout.

Signed permission slips and payment ($40*) are due Tuesday, January 17 th.

This Sunday (Sept 25 th), Troop 114 will march in the 2016 Spirit of Shrewsbury Parade… alongside our own Troop 114 100 th Anniversary Parade Float!

Our float will surely be the star of this year’s parade… and I’d like to see you all there to celebrate.

We will meet at Paton School at 11:30am to begin staging the float for the judging competition at noon. Homemade meatballs We will then march (alongside the float) in the parade from Beal School to Oak Middle School.

All participating scouts and leaders should wear a full Class-A uniform, and bring a full bottle of water.

Once again this year, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) will host a Merit Badge University over two Saturdays in October/November.

The dates for this year’s MBU are Saturday, October 29 th and Saturday, November 12 th… you must attend both dates.

Before you register, please note/consider that our Annual Thanksgiving in the Woods Campout will be held November 11 th-13 th, and is in direct conflict with the second session for MBU.

Our first campout of the 2016-2017 season will be September 30 th – October 2 nd at Treasure Valley Scout Reservation, where we will be joined by members of Cub Scout Pack 114 for the annual Webelos Woods.

This is a great opportunity to show potential future Boy Scouts what camping with Troop 114 is all about!

This campout will involve patrol-style cooking. Italian homemade bread Patrol Leaders are responsible for ensuring the list of necessary ingredients for their respective menu plans are purchased and brought to the campout.

I suggest those of you in need of cooking-related rank advancement requirements (menu planning, cooking, leading, etc.), work with your Patrol Leader to complete those requirements!

• All other scouts pay $30 to Troop 114 plus $10 (cash) to their Patrol Leader

Our May campout will be a test of your scout skills and your sense of adventure… our first-ever, No-Tent Campout! We will be headed to Treasure Valley Scout Reservation for the weekend of May 15th-17th where we will construct our own wilderness shelters in which we will sleep.

We will be cooking by patrol. Italian homemade pasta recipe Patrol Leaders will collect $10 from each scout to cover the cost of the patrol’s food. Italian homemade sausage recipes Patrol Leaders are responsible for ensuring the necessary ingredients for their respective menu plans are purchased and brought on the campout.

Please complete and return the attached permission slip and payment ($35*) by Tuesday, May 5th.
