There was a time, before three children, when I had a less all-consuming job, when everyone got a richly flavored (raspberry truffle! lemon blueberry!), layered cake for their birthday. I love that bundts are totally Minnesota — the pan was invented in Minneapolis by Nordic Ware, which still makes the best pans. You absolutely can make your own biscuit dough and use it in the same way this recipe does, but my kids love this sticky, sweet pull-apart bread for breakfast or dessert just the way it is, and it’s easy enough for them to make themselves, so I figure, why mess with a good thing?
